Kate Sims and Joe Marchitto Bring Deep Business and Technical Expertise to Strategic Accounts Team at Advanced Systems Group
Sims to Serve as VP of Strategic Accounts and Marchitto as CTO of Strategic Accounts
Emeryville, Calif., August 5th, 2024 – Advanced Systems Group, LLC (ASG), a technology and services provider for media creatives and content owners, recently named two seasoned professionals to high-ranking positions within the organization. Kate Sims joins ASG as Vice President of Strategic Accounts, and Joe Marchitto will serve as CTO of Strategic Accounts. Sims and Marchitto bring extensive expertise in data storage within media workflow infrastructures.

Sims has worked in IT consulting and media technology services for over a decade, most recently as the VP of Business Development for a Los Angeles-based systems integration firm. “Over the years, Joe and I have helped leading media enterprises make seamless transitions to cutting-edge MAM systems and optimized storage infrastructures,” Sims recalled. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see our efforts keep clients ahead in the evolving media production landscape and leave them thrilled with the results.”
In her new role, she’ll oversee relationships between ASG technology partners and clients while spearheading the company’s growth across Southern California.

As CTO of Strategic Accounts, Marchitto will work in partnership with Sims to build upon the established foundation of enterprise clientele in the Los Angeles area. Marchitto will contribute his vast technical knowledge to the design and sales of systems to new and existing customers. Prior to joining ASG, Marchitto was the CIO of a systems design firm where he led three engineering teams focused on systems integration, cloud, and media asset management deployments. In addition to managing the engineering teams, he supported many of the firm’s largest global clients as a pre-sales solutions architect.
While a Solutions Architect at Quantum, Marchitto was named “Systems Engineer of the Year” three years running and won several “Deal of the Quarter” awards. While at Quantum, Marchitto worked with many ASG team members, including retired ASG Senior Engineer and cofounder Steve Smulian as well as Tyler Berry, head of AI Business Development.
“I’m very familiar with the quality of people and work that ASG is known for,” said Marchitto. “I’m looking forward to the new projects and challenges that will surely expand my skill set. This position feels more like a coming home than starting a new job.”
Marchitto and Sims will report to ASG CTO Andy Darcy. “When it comes to building a leadership group for strategic accounts in media and entertainment, Kate and Joe are a dream team”, said Darcy. “They have keen business and technical skills, plus the ability to work as part of a cohesive team. We’re very happy they’re bringing their talents to ASG.”
