John Smart Promoted to Account Executive at Advanced Systems Group, LLC
Experienced Engineer and Event Operations Manager to Join ASG Account Management Team in New Role
Emeryville, Calif., March 18, 2025 – Advanced Systems Group, LLC (ASG), a technology and services provider for media creatives and content owners, recently named broadcast engineer and veteran event operations manager John Smart as account executive, Northern California region. Smart has been with ASG for eight years.
Smart joins the Account Management team, reporting to Garrick Huey, Senior Account Manager for ASG. In his new position, Smart will bring his experience as a broadcast engineer and operations manager to find solutions that best meet client needs and budgets.
“John has an incredibly broad base of knowledge from both an operations and a technical standpoint,” said Dave Van Hoy, President, ASG. “He has a voracious appetite for knowledge, and he’s always on top of the latest technological developments. Smart’s background positions him well to serve the diverse needs of ASG’s client base. “Coming from an engineering background, then being on the operations side for so long gave me a real insight into what our clients are up against every day,” Smart explained. “ASG is in a unique position of helping companies adopt solutions that will streamline their services and lead the way to growth.”
Prior to working with ASG, Smart was a recording engineer and studio manager. He was on staff at the renowned 25th Street Recording studio in Oakland, CA. “I’m excited to bring all of my experience to the sales team,” Smart said. “I’m looking forward to working with new clients and sharing cutting-edge technologies.
